Join me on a 3-hour Free Art street & Culture & History Tour through the hidden artistic treasures of Fes, where creativity, craftsmanship, and history come together in every corner of the medina.
Born and raised in Fes, I’ll take you beyond the usual sights to explore the city’s living artistic traditions, rich history, and vibrant culture, discovering hidden gems and experiencing Fes like a true local.

We'll begin at Bab Boujloud (the Blue Gate) and stroll through the vibrant alleys of the old medina. Along the way, we'll discover:

-Step into the timeless beauty of Fes through visits to Bou Inania Madrasa, Al-Attarine Madrasa, the world’s oldest university, Al Quaraouiyine, and the magnificent Nejjarine Museum of Wood Arts and Crafts. Discover the living heritage of Moroccan artistry as you explore the intricate zellige mosaics, the graceful flow of Arabic calligraphy, and the delicate engraving on plaster and wood, masterpieces where Islamic and Andalusian influences intertwine in perfect harmony.

-The art of embroidery delicate handmade designs kept alive by talented Fassi women.
-The art of carpet weaving, colorful rugs that tell stories of Berber heritage and Moroccan identity.
-The art of leather dyeing at Chouara Tanneries, the oldest leather tannery in the world, where colors, tradition, and craftsmanship come together in a unique scene.
-The art of copper engraving at Seffarine Square, where artisans create detailed patterns by hand, filling the air with the rhythmic sound of metalwork.
-The art of natural dyeing, we’ll pass by local areas where wool and clothes are dyed using natural pigments and traditional techniques, creating vibrant yet eco-friendly colors.
As we walk, I’ll share stories about how these crafts express the soul of Fes, a harmony between art, faith, and everyday life, along with the fascinating history of this timeless city.
