My name is Pietro and I've lived in Porto for several years. After traveling extensively, I chose to settle here, fascinated by the city's history. I was captivated by its steep streets, its azulejo tiles, and the unique atmosphere between the river and the ocean. On my tours, I'll take you to hidden corners and authentic places that I've grown to love here.

Tour description

This is a tour in Italian for those who want to enter the Porto that is not noticeable at first glance .

We'll stroll slowly , away from the noise of large groups, through alleys, stories, and details that often go unnoticed. Porto here lets itself be discovered step by step . This isn't a tour to accumulate dates, but to understand the city : its character, its contradictions, and its more human side. We'll discover real characters, local legends, views, and places that often escape the more hasty tourists.

💙 Igreja do Carmo (the "blue" wall that looks like a painting)

The side façade of azulejos is a manifesto: art, faith, identity, and public messages in a single image. Here we begin to understand the panels: symbols, hidden details, and why azulejos have become the symbol of the city.

🧱 Clérigos (Vertical Port, views and perspectives)

Climbs, narrow streets, and views that change at every turn: Porto here becomes almost cinematic. It's the perfect stop to understand how the city center was built and to notice the architectural details of one of the city's symbols.

📚 Lello Bookstore

Carved wood, volumes everywhere, and a skylight that colors the air: it's clear why it has become a global icon. And then there's the story everyone asks about: Harry Potter. For years, it's been rumored that it inspired Hogwarts, but the connection is far from certain and remains controversial. This is where it's interesting to distinguish between fantasy and reality... without losing the magic.

🚉 São Bento Station

Here, the city speaks through images. The azulejo panels narrate events, scenes, myths, and key moments: you don't need to be an expert, you just need to know what to look for. One of the most beloved stops because it combines immediate beauty and meaningful meaning.

🌸 Rua das Flores

A stroll is an experience in itself: facades, balconies, glimpses, and that slightly worn elegance that makes Porto unique. Here, I'll point out details you might usually overlook: materials, geometries, traces of the past, and how these streets have changed over time.

⛪ Sé Cathedral (medieval roots and panorama)

Here you can feel the oldest Porto: stone, history, wind, and views that open up the city before your eyes. This is the stage where the story becomes most profound: the birth of the historic center, its strategic importance, and its stratifications.

🌉 Luís I Bridge

A symbol of connection and transformation. We take the time to enjoy one of the most breathtaking views.

🛍️ Rua Santa Catarina (the living Porto: daily life, rhythm, people )

Here, the city changes pace: people, shops, sounds, real life. It's the perfect stop to discuss Porto not just as a monument, but as a populated city. Amidst the bustle, we see how azulejos enter everyday life: facades, popular devotion, urban aesthetics... and that mix of simplicity and beauty so typical of Portugal.

🧿 Capela das Almas (the final twist: azulejos everywhere)

One of the city's most powerful facades: thousands of azulejos that make you look up. We'll end on a high note with one last reading: technique, themes, emotional impact, and why this place works so well as a finale to the tour. It's a stop that truly leaves something indelible, even for those who think they "don't like art."

These are just some of the stops: we'll discover the rest by walking.

If you're looking for an authentic experience, away from mass tourism, this is the tour for you.
