I'm Arthur - my friends call me Zaasa. I was born and raised in Kampala, Uganda. I have had the opportunity to live in a different country for a year, and to travel to different global destinations over the years. From the experiences I had and the people I met on these travels, I was inspired to find ways of sharing the best bits of day-to-day Kampala life with guests that are visiting Uganda. I founded Immersionug with a group of friends: We are a team of young people that are passionate about our city and country, and want to share the awesome aspects of Uganda like our food, our hospitality, our diverse culture and nature with visitors that seek a taste of local day to day experiences. I worked for eight years in Uganda's leading brewery and the home of our best known beer, Nile Special, and I am a beer enthusiast. I have hosted countless house parties, boat cruises and I am always hanging out with friends on the weekends. I have also hosted countless visitors to Uganda in my home via couch surfing and I have hang out with guests on many occasions. I have visited most of the capitals in Western Europe and spent a year in Edinburgh, Scotland. I am excited to be able to share many of my favourite activities in Kampala, with other like minded visitors.

About the tour

Kampala Loves to Party and you're invited! Experience beer tasting, bar hopping and disco dancing with fun loving locals

We will get the night off to a great start by sample tasting the best Ugandan lagers at our local bar in bugolobi, Kampala - normally 7 pm. You will also get a chance to sample a local millet brew, served in a gourd or calabash. Around 8pm, we will then walk a short distance to bugolobi's evening street food market so you can fill up on favorite local evening delicacies of rolex (google it) and roast chicken. After grabbing a bite, we'll do some door to door bar hopping along the local bar street (bandali rise) 8.30pm - 10pm, mingling and chatting with fun loving locals as we go. Finally, around 10pm, we will take an uber to any of our local favourite clubs or dancing bars and meet up with more of our friends, where we will dance the night away to our favourite local and international jams. At the end of the night, we will take a cab or safe boda bodas (motor bike taxis) to drop you off, before we also head home. Good beer, great company, exciting city, loads of fun :-)

What's the price?

A guruwalk is a pay-what-you want walking tour, which means, it's completely free to book and join the group, but the 'guru' expects to be rewarded once the tour ends. Some people give 5, some people give 50, you choose the price.

Reservations in advance are mandatory because if the 'guru' doesn't see any bookings one day, she will not show up at the meeting point. Or if she has too many 'walkers' that day, won't allow you to join without the reservation. Booking is completely free, fast and easy. Book your guruwalk now!
