Free Walking Tours through the Alfama Lisboa

Thiago‘s tour was very entertaining and informative to give a good overview of Alfama. He also made some good suggestions what else to do in Lisbon.

Our guide, Fraga, was superb. So much so that we tipped him 50% more than our usual tip for these types of tour. Fraga was funny, passionate about Lisbon's history, informative and happy to answer any questions. His commitment to our tour meant we took 3½ hours, not the regular 3,and we could have kept on listening too. Fabulous and highly recommended. One thing to bear in mind on any walking tour in Lisbon, you will climb up and down a lot of steps so be prepared!

I loved the tour of Alfama with Valeria, she is a quite a fun guide and made the whole thing enjoyable with her way of storytelling, and of course all the info we received with it.

Daniela was fabulous! Kept us entertained and engaged full length of tour. Good information, good route, good sites. Daniela did a fabulous job, considering the group size. The group size was larger than I prefer, but Daniela had no control over that. Daniela was one of the best guides we've had a for a walking tour, and we've done lots of them!

My husband and I took this tour with Maria. It was great! I felt like we were able to hit all the spots we had written down that we wanted to see in downtown, alfama, Baxia, Chaido and she left us off in a neighborhood with a great view if the city. she gave up a WhatsApp list of recommendations of restaurants. She also had some great one-on-one conversations when we were walking talking about different people's questions like about specific doors and their meanings. She is a wealth of knowledge!

Lovely start to our stay at Lisboa. Beatriz was really informative, always open to further questions and kept us entertained. Really glad we did this free walking tour.

Excellent walking tour and introduction to Lisbon. Communication and organisation were very good, the walk was well planned and interesting, Beatriz proved to be warm, engaging, knowledgable and the little treats along the way were a nice surprise. Many thanks for stimulating morning.

Great tour to begin your Lisbon visit, seeing all the highlights of the city while learning about the culture and history of Lisbon was exactly what I was expecting. Ines was fantastic, funny and very knowledgeable.

The tour was carried out with impressive professionalism, and it was clear from the start that the guide had a solid grasp of the city’s historical background. The narrative followed a well‑designed script, beginning with the city’s earliest chapters and gradually unfolding into more recent history, which made the experience easy to follow and genuinely informative. The overall atmosphere was enjoyable. The pleasant weather and a nicely timed break added to the fun and kept the group in good spirits. The route itself was thoughtfully planned—from starting at Dom Pedro to ending at a beautifully romantic bridge, each stop felt purposeful and well chosen. The guide communicated clearly and confidently throughout the tour. While the explanations were strong, a bit more interactive engagement with the group could have made the experience even more dynamic. Still, the tour was well executed and offered a memorable look into the city.

Maria was a fantastic tour guide. Her approach was very engaging and I feel like I learned a lot about the history of Portugal, cultural traditions and Lisbon. I really appreciated her giving us recommendations for places to eat or visit, as it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming to discover where it's worth going, particularly when you don't have a lot of time to spend in the city.

Bruno is an excellent guide! He showed us around Lisbon with the perfect balance of information, history, anecdotes, and walking, always with enthusiasm and humor. The tour was well paced and even suitable for a pregnant woman. Bruno is professional and punctual, and messaged us in advance to make sure everything was set for a smooth visit. Highly recommended - he’s friendly, fun, and very knowledgeable.

Francisco was a great tour guide. Thorough, entertaining, knowledgeable, great pace and terrific energy. Highly recommend on your first day in Lisbon to get a lay of the land and understanding of the history. 10/10 Bravo!
