It contains many historical monuments such as the first university in the world (al karawiyin) and other schools (bouanania etc.)

Well your medina (old town) has a lot to do as you write your name in Arabic and do crafts by hand drinking tea on the terraces that have panoramic views.

And good part of its old town, fes has a lot to see, it has the best spas in the world (moualy yaacoub)

Omar didn't show up on the spot that was appointed on the map. Or he left too soon, or he wasn't vissible, I don't know but we missed the tour, luckily we found another tourguid to take us on a tour through the medina.

Our first day in Fez we booked a free walking tour with Omar. He was fabulous! He catered to our needs. We were in our 60's. He was with us the whole day and we walked through the medina which was a difficult maze. You could easily get lost. As we did not know the local language () Omar did the job for us hassle free. We were a bit nervous after reading previous reviews on line on Fez. But we had the most exciting tour and I will recommend it to anyone especially if you can't speak the language. He even bought us souveniers a complete surprise! What a guy! Well done Omar! Friendly, cheerful and accommodating! I wish you make many more people happy to see your beloved city!

We were on a day trip to Fez and Omar our walking guide was a great blessing and fun. Very accommodating took us to places we wanted to visit. The medina was a maze without him we would be complety lost. We could not speak the local language Hassle free we thoroughly enjoyed walking through the historic medina. He was with us all day and even left us with some souveniers to our surprise. We saw the tannery through one of the leather shops climbing a few flight of stairs. It was an amazing experience. I recommend Omar to anyone who would like to see Fez especially if you can't speak the language. He wanted nothing but we gave him a small tip. Fabulous guide!

We broke up the tour. It was horrible and we decided after 15min to stop it(after we have waited for almost one hour, because of missunderstanding). Firstly we were waiting for him because he gave me a wrong number of confirmation. Second as he arrived we have told him that we want a historic city tour, no shopping. As we startet to walk we passed by the blue gate/ bab bou jeloud. And i asked him about He answered "its just an entering gate" WHICH IS NOT TRUE. It is an historic gate and all the history you can look it up on wiki. Thirdly his english and french were very poor and hard to understand. For everything he took excuses that he was in spain: language, knowledge and so on. As we started the tour he did not give any explanation about the tour or what we are going to see. As we started to complain and had a chat with him he took a cigarette and started to smoke. He did not ask if it bothers us. For us very disrespectful. Luckily we ended the tour early enough so we lost only one hour. Do not recommend omar.
