Golden, Silver and Revolutionary Free Walking Tour
Tour description
During the first 2 centuries of its existence St.Petersburg went through golden and silver ages that ended in three revolutions. We are going to take a look at the places closely connected with its history, so you would be able to see things that amaze and hear things that educate. We are going to cover a lot of ground in the historical center of the city, because the main attraction in St.Petersburg are its ensembles, different streets and squares with varied buildings and canals united in a single whole, that are impossible to change by adding or subtracting anything from it, without ruining it, and which are situated in and around downtown area and Nevsky prospect. You can easily spend many days looking at those, because each building is closely connected with history of Russia and surrounded by mystery, intrigue and drama. On our walk along the streets and canals we'll spot the mansions of the richest Russian families that rivaled the Romanovs, who owned a land compared to any kingdom in Europe. I've spent years at the library reading about their fortunes and their famous representatives, who influenced the history of Russia in 18-20 cent. and I want to pass it to you.
