Route: The free walking tour will begin at 11:30 in Puerta del Sol, Madrid center and the most important square in the capital, there we will enjoy its architecture and most emblematic places. We will start the path heading towards the Plaza Mayor, crossing the old Villa of Madrid until we reach the imposing space where important official acts, history and torture, closely related to the Inquisition and its famous Black Legend. We will leave from there crossing the famous Arch of Knives, in whose surroundings important personalities moved who left us some of the most curious anecdotes. We will also talk about local gastronomy, the world of tapas and the oldest restaurant in the world. We will also visit the old Mercado de San Miguel. We will continue to the Plaza de Puerta Cerrada, location of the old city wall, and we will cross Calle Mayor. This will give way to the most notable monuments of the tour: the Plaza de la Villa, the place of the old town hall, the Almudena Cathedral, and the Royal Palace, the former residence of the kings of Spain, with which we will finish our tour on foot about two hours approximately.
