Coimbra Like a Friend Shows You (Local Guide, Small Group, No Rush)

Immer wieder gerne!

Piacevolissimo soprattutto perché insolito e ...no politycal corect ... .Abbiamo apprezzato l'ironia e la visione realistica della vita a Coimbra.

Joao clearly loves his city and shared a lot of information. The small group allowed for many opportunities for questions. The walk covered a good deal of territory but didn't feel rushed at all. Really appreciated that Joao also brought his own university cape so we could have a close look, and he could speak to the many student-related traditions. Thank you, Joao! You are a great ambassador for Coimbra!

Jose thought he might bore us with his stories of history and culture. Not the case at all! We loved it! We especially liked the trips down the sidestreets of old Coimbra, and the coffee stop at the university.

Breno was a charming story teller. My only issue is that we arrived early as instructed and he did not. For a few minutes there I thought maybe we were the only ones who signed up and the guide decided it wasn’t worth his time. Ultimately though we had a very good experience.

This was a lovely and intimate tour. Joao is not only a local, but also a former university student. He was able to provide fascinating insider information, especially since there was a special event the day of our visit. Joao also provided historical insights and personal perspective. Wonderful and memorable. Thank you, Joao!

A great tour by 'Jon'. Jon was very informative and engaging throughout the 2 hours. As a Coimbra resident he has a full understanding of the city along with a comprehensive commentary of the history of the city. We'd strongly recommend this tour. (Please note that Jon prefers small group tours which we thought was a bonus!)

Breno was entertaining and enthusiastic. He was able to answer all of our questions and shared information about his life as a student in Coimbra. We appreciated that insight. I learned a fair bit about the city, its history and some of the traditions. I would definitely recommend Breno as a tour guide - his English was very good.

We had a fantastic walking tour with Jose. Jose is knowledgeable, humorous, considerate and full of surprises. We have learned so much from his waking tour, not only the history about Coimbra, but also the astronomy, arts, and culture. He spent more times than he was scheduled to, he also generously treated all the participants coffee, and water while giving us time to rest. I have never had a tour guide this kind and generous. Highly recommend to join his walking tour.
