MADRID ESSENTIAL TOUR guided by a local.
Tour description
Exciting tour of Historic Madrid, Madrid de los Austrias, where we will learn about the legacy left by the ancient kings , the interesting life of our ancestors and the legends that accompany some of the most emblematic buildings in the capital.
The tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
We start the tour at the iconic Puerta del Sol , where I will introduce you to King Carlos III, the Royal Post Office, the Bear and the Strawberry Tree and much more.
After a brief walk, we will arrive at the majestic Plaza Mayor , where I will tell you about the varied activity that has been the protagonist of it since its creation.
Then we will go down Toledo street, stopping at the Plaza de la Puerta Cerrada, one of the doors that gave access to the walled town of Madrid.
we will go up by Cuchilleros street where we will discover, among others, the oldest restaurant in the world and the oldest barbershop in the European Union .
We will arrive at the San Miguel Market , where you will discover why we Spaniards eat tapas .
The tour continues with a brief stop at the Antigua Farmacia de la Reina Madre , the oldest store in Madrid.
We will go down Calle Mayor , making a stop at the beautiful Plaza de la Villa while we then meet the (most) Curious Neighbor of Madrid.
