Hi, I'm Johann, I was born in the Upper Palatinate and I'm originally from Weiden. In 2017 I moved to Regensburg for my studies. I like to tell funny stories and convey interesting knowledge in an entertaining way. In 2019 I started giving seminars on many different topics and gained a lot of experience speaking in front of large groups. I have taken part in free walking tours in over 10 different European cities and am now happy to be able to offer my own, very personal tour.

Tour description

You are hereby invited to explore Regensburg with me in a fun and informative way. You will learn interesting inside stories about the stone bridge, the cathedral, the history of the medieval city and the traditions of the residents.

During the approximately two-hour tour, you'll discover where you can eat well, which museums are worth visiting, where to meet for social gatherings, and much more.

We start our tour in the famous Regensburg district of Stadtamhof, we walk on the Steinerne Brücke (UNESCO World Heritage Site), we observe the traditional snack bar "Wurstkuchel" and the mural "David and Goliath" based on the Biblical legend, which characterizes the urban landscape. . Then continue through the various squares of the historic center of Regensburg and through the medieval streets. Of course, there is a stop at the Regensburg Cathedral, where we discuss the city's legend about the competition between the master builder of the cathedral and the builder of the stone bridge.
Finally, we enjoy together the splendid view of the old town from the iron bridge, an ideal photo point for the Regensburg "Skyline" and conclude the tour on the Danube stairs next to the controversial "Goldener Waller" art statue in front of the House of Bavarian History.
If you are interested, you can come :)

I can't wait to see you on my next tour!

I was really looking forward after all the great reviews. We planned our weekend around the tour. Unfortunately, Johann never showed up - also no notice or message whatsoever until now why that was the case. We found the other walkers that were signed up but no guide. Very disappointed.

Johann was awesome. He had a great knowledge of Regensburg, it’s history and interesting stories. He also provided some great recommendations on local restaurants and things to do. I would definitely recommend touring with Johann.

Johann is extremely knowledgeable and motivated. He is proud of his home-town and State and will advice on all matters asked, so don't hesitate. He is also intellectually curious. Johann is a qualified financial consultant and loves to conduct guided tours as a hobby, the way I understand it. That does not mean you should tip him less or think he is deserving of anything less than a professional guide!
