Free Walking Tours through the Alfama Lisboa

I bring my out of town visitors on this tour each time. It’s a great way to get an overview of Lisbon, gain some essential knowledge of the history, get some good exercise, and personal tips/insider knowledge from the guide. These past two times I’ve had Frago as our guide, and he’s been entertaining and personable. Definitely recommend.

Had a fantastic tour in Lisbon! Antonio was incredibly informative and made Portuguese history come alive by explaining the key figures and events that shaped the country in a way that was engaging and easy to follow. Loved all the fun facts, local tips, and secret hacks along the way too. Beyond being knowledgeable, he is genuinely kind, fun, and created such a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend!

This is the first time I joined a walking tour. It was very good and interesting experience. Fraga our guide was excellent and knowledgeable about the history of Lisbon Just be prepared to do a lot of walking and climbing stairs in this tour

Daniela was very fun, friendly, and informative. She shared many stories of the history and culture of Lisbon and Portugal. You can tell that she’s proud of her country!

Great tour and introduction to the city! The 3 hours passed by very quickly, was expecting to get tired going up and down hills but not at all, barely realized there were hills. Very engaging, easy conversation and made everyone feel right at ease. Reccomend to anyone coming to the city, do it on your first day so you get all the good reccomendations.

Nuno provides wonderful personal insights into life in Lisbon. His tour is a great mixture of information and emotions. His authentic way of speaking and gestures make this beautiful city truly memorable.

Francisco delivered the history of Lisbon with incredible passion and comedy. He answered all of our questions and had great recommendations for after the tour. I was sad when it ended but left with a much better understanding of this beautiful place. 10/10 would recommend!

Increíble experiencia de la mano de Adriana. 100% recomendado. El tour es muy completo, arranca puntual y dura aproximadamente 3 horas y media, que son muy llevaderas (hay paradas para ir al baño, y degustacion incluida del pastel de nata). Tambien tuvimos la opcion de probar ginjinha a un local muy amoroso. Adriana es estupenda, calida, graciosa, responde todas las dudas, comparte sus ideas y experiencias y sabe muchísimo de la historia del pais (y también de otros paises). Los volveriamos a elegir sin dudas.

This tour was very complete, and the guide Joana was amazing. She is very knowledgeable and you can tell she is enthusiastic about the story of her own city and country, so it was a very rich and fun experience.

Un freetour completo por varios barrios de Lisboa, muy ameno y entretenido. Lo recomiendo al 200%. Los puntos que se visitan son muy interesantes, pero la simpatía de Adriana otorga un plus que los hace únicos. No os perdais hacer el recorrido con ella. Fraga was an excellent guide. He has a vast knowledge of the history and political changes of Portugal. The surprise stops for treats were great. Overall a very enjoyable experience. 😁

Out tour and tour guide were excellent. Joana was so incredibly knowledgeable, entertaining, and well-spoken. She responded with aplomb to the most arcane questions. My partner has taken many walking tours as a flight attendant. He thought Joana’s tour was the best he’d ever been on. I would have to agree. Obrigado, Joana !

Natalia was an amazing tour guide! Not only is she very knowledgeable and shared some very interesting information about local areas, important history, and culture- but she did so with great authenticity, humour and passion! It was great to meet other like-minded travellers on this tour and Natalia also provided great recommendations for spending time in Lisbon.

Beatriz was a wonderful guide! She had great energy from the start and made the whole tour really enjoyable. You can tell she knows her stuff—she shared interesting facts and stories without making it feel overwhelming. What stood out most was how warm and genuine she was, it felt more like exploring the city with a friend than being on a formal tour. Highly recommend joining her walk if you get the chance!

This was one of the best walking tours I’ve done, and I make it a point to do one in every city I go to! Our guide Dani was absolutely incredible; she’s clearly very passionate and adds in interesting and funny titbits which makes it super engaging. It is excellent value given it went for 3.5hrs, we all got a Pastel de Nata, and then Dani was very generous with her time in answering questions, sending everyone a document with her tips, so all up she took our 4 hours! Great use of my morning and introduction to Lisbon!

Adriana was amazing, we had a small child with us and she was very accommodating. Loved her energy, knowledge and positivity!
