If you ask my family and friends, they will probably tell you that I am the most Colombian of Colombians and well, I have great pride in my country. I love showing its culture and wealth. I study Political Science so you can always have one or another curious fact about Colombian history and politics with me. Furthermore, I have always loved cooking and I have taken several courses in this regard, so I have the experience to show you the wonderful gastronomic diversity of my city. I hope to show you Bogotá in a fun, interesting and enriching way!
Welcome to a gastronomic adventure through the traditional Chapinero neighborhood, in the heart of Bogotá.
On this tour we will focus on the treasures, those gastronomic jewels of the town that have been in existence for 20 years or more and have earned a place in the history of this iconic area of the city.
We will go to 6 different places including restaurants, cafes, bakeries and street stalls where we will try the specialties of each place and where I will explain the historical and cultural importance of both the food you will be consuming and the place that offers it.
We will try everything from Caribbean fried foods and coffee, through typical soups, snacks, tamales to signature Colombian cuisine.
We will begin our tour in Aparicio and Tamayo Park (Carrera 5 with Calle 69) in zone G and we will end our tour in Parque Portugal (Carrera 4a with Calle 58)
You are invited to embark on this adventure to understand that food goes beyond being delicious, it is also wonderful in the positive impact it generates for our people and our neighborhood.
Food consumed at each stop is not included in the tour and the participant is free to choose to buy it or not. On some occasions, some establishments do not accept cards so it is recommended to carry cash.
I will be in Parque Aparicio y Tamayo, a small square located between 68th and 69th Street in front of Carrera 5. Behind the park you will see a sign that says "SPINNING CENTER GYM". I will be wearing a black cap with the letter Z written in white.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
