My name is Cécile, and I am a licensed tour guide and conference guide based in Sarlat, where I live and work. I have been involved in tourism for many years, with a background in travel, guiding, and adult education.
I am passionate about history and heritage, and I particularly enjoy helping people understand places by connecting local stories to broader historical events. For me, a city is not just something to look at, but something to read and interpret through its architecture, landscapes, and everyday life.

Tour description
This 1 to 1.5-hour guided walking tour will help you discover the historic center of Sarlat in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. As you walk through the medieval streets, you will learn about the city’s history and its development over time.
Using local stories and simple explanations, I will show you how Sarlat’s history connects to the wider history of France. You will also learn how to read the buildings and streets, and understand what they tell us about the past.
The tour is for small groups and is adapted to your interests and level of knowledge, so everyone can enjoy the visit and ask questions.
