During the tour, we will discover stories linked to the feared yet venerated Black Christ of Cáceres, one of the city's most enigmatic figures, as well as the secrets and methods of the Holy Inquisition in Cáceres. We will discuss ancient rituals, witchcraft practices, collective fears, and legends that still seem to inhabit the streets of the historic center, as many of these stories have been passed down from generation to generation through the experiences, testimonies, and beliefs of the people of Cáceres themselves.
This nighttime tour will take you through the beautifully illuminated Old Town, where the silence, shadows, and stone create the perfect setting to discover Cáceres's hidden and enigmatic side. A unique free tour, ideal for those who wish to delve into the city's lesser-known past, it concludes at the Church of Santiago, one of the most symbolically significant temples and a place steeped in Cáceres's myths, stories, and popular traditions.
