When daylight leaves us, this free night tour of Cáceres begins at Plaza de Santa María, the starting point for a journey full of superstitions, witchcraft, and dark beliefs that have been part of the city's popular imagination for centuries.
During the tour, we will discover stories linked to the feared and at the same time revered Black Christ of Cáceres, one of the city's most enigmatic figures, as well as the secrets and methods of the Spanish Inquisition in Cáceres. We will talk about ancient rituals, witchcraft practices, collective fears, and legends that still seem to inhabit the streets of the historic center, as many of these stories have been passed down from generation to generation through the experiences, testimonies, and beliefs of the people of Cáceres themselves.
This night tour will allow us to stroll through the beautifully illuminated Monumental City, where silence, shadows, and stone create the perfect setting to discover the most hidden and enigmatic side of Cáceres. A different free tour, ideal for those who wish to immerse themselves in the city's most unknown past, ending next to the Church of Santiago, one of the temples with the greatest symbolic significance and one of the places where the most myths, stories, and popular traditions of Cáceres are concentrated.
