Essential Free walking tours of Barcelona

Sebastian led my partner’s first walking tour, and he loved it—the mix of history and storytelling, especially in the Gothic Quarters, made it the highlight of Barcelona for him. I appreciated the convenience of tipping by credit card, and the earphones made it easy to hear everything, even while taking photos from behind. One area for improvement would be more stories or historical context on Muslim influences in Barcelona, and guidance on where to see related sights. There’s plenty of coverage of Christian landmarks, and we went into great detail on the Jewish influence, so including more on the city’s Islamic heritage would make the tour even more well-rounded and enriching.

Honestly, the best thing you can do if you are visiting Barcelona for a couple days is to do the walking tour with Micky as soon as possible. He’ll also tell you how to make the most of your visit. We got such a great fee for the gothic quarters, and the city in general. Well done!

Our guided walk was entertaining and informative. Unfortunately it started to rain about 5 minutes in and rained for most of the tour which rather messed up the route. The guide did his best in difficult circumstances. He offered to stop on several occasions but we all were happy to continue in the rain.

Our guide Paul was lovely and really helped bring the old city to life with some fun and happy stories and other more serious history. A great experience!

Wonderful tour of Barcelona to learn the history, see hidden gems, and see a variety of modernist architecture. Some of the tour felt like a school quiz so our group ended up tallying points to see who won. Highly recommend!

The meeting point to find the guide was incorrectly indicated on the map l was sent. It is extremely confusing to find you and we were stressed and exhausted by the time we found the spot.

Cristina was very good and she was from Barcelona and knew the area extremely well. She was very knowledgeable and good humoured even though the rain was very heavy she kept everyone happy! Brilliant!

Filipa was a very friendly guide, with a vast and deep knowledge of Barcelona's history, which she presented in a very fun and interesting way. I liked a lot, that she didn't talk while walking and waited to present the sights, when the group was standing together as a group. Great tour overall!

Filipa was excellent. Lots of information about the history of the area and she was very considerate of all the guests. She wanted to make sure we all stayed together and she answered everyone’s questions patiently and professionally. She was five stars or maybe a little more!

I'm glad we missed our first booked walking tour. We booked with the guru at the last minute. It was efficient and convenient. Miki, our guru with the Yellow umbrella, was the best and was honest during the tour, especially about his recommendations for food, drinks, and shops. Haha, he knows what’s authentic and cheap. He is very knowledgeable and entertaining. This was our first family walking tour together. My parents, who are 50+ years old, loved it and appreciated all the information. Muchos gracias.
