Essential Free walking tours of León

Alejandro’s tour was amazing, we loved it! The tour included so many interesting facts about the history of Leon, great places to eat, and where to find local music. We also enjoyed tasting local food and juice at the market. Thank you Alejandro for a great tour and introduction to Leon. You were right about the ice cream shop Sweet Kiss… delicious. Highly recommend this tour.

We made the tour with a very nice guy named Vladimir. He told us a lot of stories about Leon and we visited a lot of famous landmarks of the town (art street, cathedral, central market, streets, etc). We learned a lot about the history of Nicaragua and Leon and he answered all of our questions. Vladimir is funny and helpful with his guests. Absolutely recommended tour.

With Marlon, it was like visiting a friend who is showing you his hometown. It never got boring throughout the tour and Marlon was able to answer all our questions. Great way to start a stay in León! The highlight was going to the roof of the cathedral during sunset (145 C$ for the ticket as of 2026) and hearing about all the different volcanos that you can see from there.

A very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, who talked extensively about the history of Nicaragua and the region in general.

We would recommend the city tour, it was really nice to explore the city. The guru can tell gou a lot about the history of the city and will tell it with a lot of enthusiasm. We liked the food market!! Nice to try some local stuff.

Marlon is a very kind and hilarious young man. He knows a lot from the past en whats taken Nicaragua so far. His english is very good. We recommend to do the tour. We had a chill drink at the end with each other in a cool bar. Tour was on a Sunday around 1.5hour.

Alejandro is an excellent guide. Good balance between stopping for history and seeing different parts of the city. The market and trying different local food was a highlight. Good balance of trying to align to what the group wanted. Tour is longer but was engaging throughout. Follow up suggestions provided by WhatsApp. One of the best tip based walking tours I’ve ever had.

Overall good tour, one of the better walking tours. Gives a good overview of the linear history of Nicaragua which was informative and appreciated. Gives some tips on local bites. Would suggest to give a bit more in depth history and organization of topics
