My name is Vera and I am continuosly discovering Moscow despite of the fact that it’s my birth place. Usually everybody thinks of Moscow as of a chaotic capital with plenty of cars and people, always hurrying up somewhere. And it is kind of true. Still you need to know there are many green areas and nice cosy yards. There are places where history of Russia is still to be seen and you can imagine you step onto the ground, which Alexander Pushkin or Ivan the Terrible used to step on. That's what I love about my city - the more modern it gets, the more exciting it gets to discover some hidden historical sites in it. And even more precious therefore become its worldwide known architecture masterpieces.
This tour makes a good start for exploring the city. We'll start from the giant Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and enjoy Moscow river views to Cremlin from over there. After that we continue to Red Square, stopping by some other amusing architectural sites and sculptures.
The walk ends in Red Square near Cremlin, in the heart of Moscow, so it will be convenient for you to see something else in the center or have a lunch right after the tour.
Meeting point: in front of the main entrance to the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. How to get there: Kropotkinskaya metro station, line 1 (red one).
Weather can be challenging. Be sure you won't be freezing or wet
Good shoes are always a must
!!! Please let me know in case of cancelling the booking, so that nobody would have to wait in vain
We are meeting near the main entrance to the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour (it is facing NOT the river, but Volkhonka street)
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
