Free Tour Rome, the center of the Roman world
Hello, I'm Alessio. I'm finishing my art history studies in Rome, although I originally come from Barcelona and spent my last eight years in Germany. In Saxony I spent my time doing guided tours in the wonderful Florence on the Elbe. In addition to art history I study catholic theology and general history, so that I can give a general but complete overview of the events that determined the development of Rome. I am especially interested in paleochristian and baroque art, but of course I will tell you a little bit about everything. But don't be afraid. Apart from explaining the curiosities and history of the city, I am a person who is also interested in having a good time in company, eating traditional Italian food or simply strolling through the streets of the eternal city. Come and let yourself be enchanted by this city and its art!
Tour description
During this tour we will give an overview of the history of the city, from its origins to the founding of the Italian state, and we will visit some of its most important monuments in situ.
First we will go to Piazza Venezia , where we will discover this square full of Roman and medieval remains and we will talk about the Altar della Patria. After visiting part of the Roman imperial forums, we will go up to the Campidoglio , which was the center of power in the city for centuries and where you can still admire the oldest museum of Roman antiquities in the world.
Next , we will walk through the narrow streets to the old Jewish ghetto , where I will explain the glories and misfortunes of this part of the city, and finally we will return to Piazza Venezia.
Auf unserer Tour besteht die Möglichkeit, eine Kirche zu besichtigen, daher empfehle ich Ihnen, die Schultern zu bedecken oder ein Tuch zu tragen, um die Schultern zu bedecken.
