ITINERARY

We will begin the tour by exploring one of Budapest's culinary temples: the Central Market. Among colorful stalls and intense aromas, we will tell you about the most typical products of Hungarian cuisine: Mangalica pork, goose foie, paprika... and much more! Here we will make a stop for anyone who wants to try something (not included in the price).
- 🍷 Váci Utca and Culinary Tradition
We will stroll through one of the city's most famous streets, filled with restaurants. We will talk about essential dishes like goulash or lángos, wines like Tokaj, and liquors like pálinka. We will also discover curious gastronomic customs of Hungarian daily life.
- 🍰 Kürtőskalács: the Chimney Cake
We will stop at a traditional kürtőskalács bakery, the oldest Hungarian sweet. You can buy one if you want to try it freshly made, while we tell you why all tourists fall for it.
- ☕ Flavors of the Communist Era
We will take a break to tell you how food changed during the Soviet regime, how ration cards worked, and what the most popular dishes and drinks were at that time.
- 🍽️ Katalin Karády's House
At this point, we will talk about Jewish gastronomy. You will discover who this actress was, considered "Righteous Among the Nations," and how she saved hundreds of lives during the Holocaust... while we explain what kosher food is and what traditional dishes are prepared for the Sabbath.
- 📖 Bohemian Zone: Central Café and Paris Galleries
We will end the tour in the cultural heart of 19th-century Budapest. We will tell you why this area was the center of bohemia, how the mythical literary cafés emerged, and what sweets were the favorites of high society. And of course, you will take away recommendations to keep eating well for the rest of your trip.
🔸 Notes: Tastings are not included, but during the tour, there will be several stops where you can eat or drink on your own, according to your preference.
