I am Elisa and I come from Italy, I have a degree in Art History and for many years I have been working in the tourism sector in various parts of the world, as well as working as a freelance journalist for contemporary art magazines. I love sharing my knowledge and my passions about art, being outdoors and always discovering new perspectives in the different cities where I am lucky enough to live and work.
Known worldwide as the financial heart of Europe, Frankfurt is not only made up of banks and economy, it also hides a fervent humanistic and cultural side.
My Tour will take you to know the world of art in this multicultural city, among its colorful neighborhoods, with classic and sober facets, both modern with its skyline of skyscrapers and popular, flooded with aromas and cultures from all over the world.
Walking around the city I will tell you about its skyscrapers and some architecturally relevant buildings, but we will also have the opportunity to see some of the major attractions such as the Duomo or the Zeil, the shopping street, without forgetting some suggestive glimpse of the river Main.
Another main destination will be Fahrgasse and Braubachstraße, two very lively streets that are home to the largest concentration of independent galleries. We will finish walking around the Museumsufer and its 37 museums and exhibition venues! Which, of course, you can decide to visit at the end of the tour.
During our artistic journey I will have the pleasure of telling you small historical anecdotes and local stories, but you will also discover its unusual and unknown side, which is its daily street life and social life, away from the beaten track of conventional touristic attractions, such as the districts of Bahnhofsviertel, Gallus and Bornheim.
*N.B. This is not a classic historical tour full of dates and numbers, this is a lively walking tour to show you the city, its beauty and lifestyle with a privileged interest for contemporary art and architecture.
** RECOMMENDED: comfortable shoes and umbrella!
Hauptbahnhof - Central Train Station, just outside the main entrance (on the right side and next to the metro access)
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
