Tour description

What is the origin of the Balearic Islands? What was Majorca called in the old days? Sign up for a journey through the 4,000 years that have made it that GREAT island that once fascinated the Roman settlers and that now promises to conquer you.

ITINERARY:

We are waiting for you in the Plaza Mayor , the nerve center of the city, to embark on a journey through its 4000 years of history, from Roman Palma to the Ciutat de Mallorca, passing through the Arab Medina Al-Mayurqa.

We will stroll through the historic center to discover its monumental and cultural wealth. Did you know that it is one of the largest and best preserved old towns in the Mediterranean? Each street and each small alley is a treasure that hides emblematic shops, modernist buildings and corners as unique as the Plaza de Banc de l'Oli.

Star stop for those who consider themselves gastronomic travelers, welcome to the Mercado de l'Olivar . We will love to walk among the aromas, colors and flavors of its different stalls... a good time to talk about Mallorcan gastronomy , right?

We will follow the medieval layout of its streets until we reach the parish church of Santa Eulalia, the oldest in Palma; Just a few steps later we will arrive at the Plaza de Cort , where we will admire the emblematic building of the Town Hall , although it is not the only emblematic thing that we will find there.

Did you know that Palma is known as "the city of patios"? Some of the most beautiful stately homes await us with their doors open, waiting to be discovered by our curious eyes.

We have not finished our free tour yet, paradise awaits us! We will access the beautiful Jardines del Obispo to prepare our next stop: the Cathedral of Palma .

This imposing building, considered one of the tallest Gothic structures in Europe, has become a symbol of the Balearic capital along with La Almudaina , the royal palace that we will find in front of it.

We will finish our Free tour in the Parc de la Mar. In front of this large saltwater lake we will find a beautiful panoramic view of the Renaissance walls and the Cathedral.
