Tour description
Albertopolis & Hyde Park
Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband and the great visionary of the Victorian Age, had a tremendous impact on Britain in the 19th century. From his patronage of science and industry with the Great Exhibition to his support for all manner of arts & culture. We will explore the area in South Kensington known as 'Albertopolis' because of its many connections to Prince Albert. We will start at the Royal Albert Hall, move across to discuss the glorious Albert Memorial and then walkers will have an option to leave or continue into the Victoria & Albert Museum for some additional fascinating sights.
Led by Victorian historian Darrell R. Rivers, in authentic Victorian clothing.
