Hello My name is David Parra, I was born in Bogotá 29 years ago, I am a journalist and I currently work as a news reporter. In my college years I worked as a tour guide which helped pay for my studies and I fell in love with this job of making my country and my City know through the streets and its history.

Tour description

Let's take a free walking tour of three of the most representative museums in Colombia!

1.- Gold Museum:
National Geographic magazine highlighted it as one of the best history museums on the planet. The museum has 34,000 pieces of gold, all of unparalleled beauty and unique historical value to indigenous cultures.
2.- Museo Botero:
Botero is one of the most recognized Colombian artists and sculptors, his work is exhibited in different cities around the world. in this museum, there are 123 works by him and 85 by international artists that make up one of the most valuable collections of modern and contemporary art in the world.
3.- Museo Casa de la Moneda:
In 1620 the Casa de Moneda  was founded with the purpose of coining the gold and silver that would circulate in the New Kingdom of Granada (The old name for Colombia)
The first coins of the New Kingdom of Granada were minted in this house and all Colombian coins were manufactured until 1987, when this activity began to be carried out in the Factory outside the city.

This will be a tour of about two hours, in which I will tell the meaning of the museums in Colombia, fun facts, and why these three museums are among the best in the country.

I avoid extending myself with unnecessary history, names, or dates that are difficult to remember, instead through surprising stories I tell the history of the country.

NOT INCLUDED:
Entrance for Gold Museum $ 5.000 (Cinco mil pesos)
Botero Museum and Casa Moneda - Free entrance

Don't waste your time and money on this tour. The entrance fee of the Gold museum already includes a guided tour through the museum, check the museum's website for the schedules. That should give you a much better experience than this tour with David. This was my worst GuruWalk experience so far. David never showed up, although the tour was confirmed, and never notified me or even responded to my message. I waited almost 45 minutes for him at the meeting point, which was just lost time, and even worse I decided to skip another interesting tour to be able to join this one. Very disappointed. If David would at least have notified me, I could have joined that other tour. By the way, the gold museum is free on Sundays, but on Sundays unfortunately no guided tours are offered by the museum itself, the explanations in the museum are also plenty though. The other museums of this tour are always free and have limited but sufficient explanations in English.
