Tour description
Our Wlak start at 1:55 - City Hall station gate 3 at street.(Line 1 and 2)
How did K-Pop become the soundtrack of the world?
Does "Squid Game" really explain Korean culture?
If you’ve ever come to Korea with these questions in mind, come walk with Seon.
Just 100 years ago, Korea was under Japanese colonial rule. More than 400 years ago, during the Japanese invasions of the 16th century, much of the country was burned to the ground. Yet today, Korea stands as a global cultural powerhouse, an economic success story, and a vibrant democracy. What happened in between? That’s the story we’ll explore together.
We’ll begin at Deoksugung Palace, where we watch the royal guard changing ceremony — a quiet but powerful reminder of Korea’s royal past.
Then we’ll walk to Gwanghwamun Square, standing before the statues of Sejong the Great, the king who created the Korean alphabet, and Yi Sun-sin, the admiral who defended Korea during the Japanese invasions. Beneath King Sejong’s statue, we’ll visit a small but impressive exhibition space that helps you understand why these figures still shape Korean identity today.
Finally, we’ll explore the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, where Korea’s dramatic journey — from colonization and war to democracy and global influence — comes alive in a clear and engaging way.
There’s little to no entrance fee — but I promise, the experience is priceless.
As a licensed official tour guide and former global CEO, I understand how international visitors see the world. I explain Korea’s history in a way that’s insightful, easy to follow, and surprisingly fun.
Join me for a walk, a story, and maybe the beginning of a great Korean friendship.
You won’t regret it !
