I'm Mark and was born in Scotland. I've been visiting Galicia since 1994 and moved here in 2010. I recently moved to Ribadavia having lived in Baiona. I've guiding groups for many years on gastronomic tours in the Old Town of Baiona and in Vigo. I guide walking tours too on the Camino de Santiago including on the Portuguese Way from Porto, Oia and Baiona and from Sarria,Tui and Ourense including from Santiago de Compostela to Finisterre and Muxia. I have also filmed all of the Caminos de Santiago in Spain. I'm also an expert on tourism in Galicia, having written over 1000 pages of content for My Guide Galicia, a leading English speaking travel website as well as other websites like EATourSpecialist. I'm an active Blogger for Galicia Gastro, a group of Galician Bloggers having been a judge at numerous tapas competitions throughout Galicia as well as promoting gastronomic events, winery visits, inaugurations etc. I'm a Geography graduate (UCL) and was a Chartered Town Planner in Bristol. I'm a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and Chartered Geographer. I'm also a Level 10 Local Guide for Google Maps.

Tour description

The tour starts in front of Santa Liberata Church. It takes a look at the Camino de Santiago and the Apostle St. James and his significance in Baiona through its monuments. buildings and places of interest. The tour follows a stage in the Camino de Santiago passing Churches like Santa Maria, the old Pilgrim's Hospital (converted to award winning Public Library), Santisima Trinidad Cross and Misericordia Chapel before finishing outside the Tourist Information Office. About 3 kms of easy walking.
