Beginner Spanish Class... with Salsa!
Tour description
Come join my proposal for a fun and interactive way of learning Spanish. (BEGGINERS BASIC EDITION)
I’ll keep it simple and basic and we will advance based on your capabilities. We will use Salsa as an interactive and practical tool for Spanish learning!
**This is a class focused on language learning, not dancing. We might listen to music and do some salsa steps on the side**
The class will be divided into 2 sections:
SECTION 1: BASIC LANGUAGE LEARNING
We will sit down, paper in hand, and review vocabulary and grammar like:
- Body parts: body, legs, foot, feet, arm, hand, head, torso, chest, mouth, smile, laugh, etc.
- Singular and plural
- Verbs conjugation: dance, stop, start, continue, smile
- Salsa terms: swing, tumbao, Sabor
- Another general vocabulary
SECTION 2: SPANISH APPLIED TO SALSA
We will use salsa cover songs of internationally famous hits and artists as a practical way of using Spanish. We will review the lyrics in English, in Spanish, and then the translation of the Spanish version and see how they coincide (or not...)
As a bonus for reading so far, here are the songs we will be using for section 2. You can look them up and impress your friends (and yourself):
- No no no by Eve - No no no by Boogaloo Assassins
- Part Time Lover by Stevie Wonder - Amor a Medio Tiempo by Bobby Valentín
- Careless Whisper by George Michael - Rumores by Orquesta la Palabra
If you like learning, fun, and languages… this is for you! And for you to have your best spanish class ever… that is my goal.
** Note:
- Please bring a pen or pencil if possible, and a notebook or something flat to use as writing support.
