Free Tour of the Gardens of the Royal Palace of La Granja

We will find ourselves in front of the Royal Collegiate Church of the Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso , the starting point to understand why Philip V and Isabel de Farnesio made this place their refuge: a palace with French-style gardens adapted to the personality of the Sierra de Guadarrama.

From the Horseshoe Courtyard we will begin a tour through the symbolism of the fountains: in the Forest Fountain Vertumnus and Pomona will appear; then, the Neptune and Amphitrite fountains will introduce us to the language of courtly power; further on, the Fountain of the Winds will lead us to some curious Dragons and the geometric layout of the Plaza de las Ocho Calles .

We will continue with the Fountain of the Frogs and the legend of Latona until we reach the most spectacular end: the Baths of Diana and the monumental Fountain of Fame , whose vertical jet proclaims the Bourbon prestige.
