Hi! I'm Enma, a Classical Studies graduate with a passion for history and culture. I love to travel, and through my travels, I've learned what visitors to a city truly seek: to get to know it authentically and have a genuine experience. My professional and personal journey has brought me to Galicia, and although I'm not from Vigo, I've gradually discovered its culture and hidden gems, allowing me to offer a unique perspective: a blend of the curiosity of an outsider and the affection of someone who already feels this place is their own. If you give me the chance, I'd love to show you the city from this angle.

Tour description
In History and Stone: Exploring the Medieval Old Town of Pontevedra, I propose a stroll through the streets and squares where you can best understand how the city has evolved over time. Although the tour focuses on medieval Pontevedra, we will also travel to its possible Roman origins, its founding legends, and the historical moments that left their mark on its identity.
We'll begin in the Alameda , a perfect place to get our bearings and understand how the town grew from its earliest settlements linked to the old bridge over the Lérez River. From there, we'll walk to the Ruins of Santo Domingo , where we'll discuss the role of religious orders in the Middle Ages. We'll then continue to the Teatro Principal and the Praza do Teucro , one of the oldest squares, steeped in history and tradition.
We'll walk through the arcades to Praza da Ferrería and Praza da Peregrina , a key point on the Portuguese Way to Santiago, to discover how pilgrims, merchants, and artisans brought the historic center to life. The tour will continue past the Convent of San Francisco and the Church of San Bartolomé.
We will then wander through squares with names that still recall old trades: Praza da Leña, Praza da Verdura, Méndez Núñez, and Praza da Pedreira . We will pass by the Market and Praza das Cinco Rúas before arriving at the Basilica of Santa María a Maior , one of Pontevedra's great historical symbols and a reflection of its maritime past.
We will end by returning to the Alameda after a quiet, close circular walk full of small stories that reveal how, between stone and memory, Pontevedra has built its identity over the centuries.
