Welcome to the walking tour of the Roman history of Barcelona! During this exciting journey, we will explore some of the most emblematic corners that bear witness to the legacy of ancient Barcino.
Our first stop will be the Roman Sepulchral Way, a place of eternal rest for the ancient inhabitants of the city. This way connects us directly with Barcelona's funerary past, revealing the importance that death held for society.
We will continue our walk to Plaza Nova, where one of the four main entrances of ancient Roman Barcino will greet us, and then we will head to Plaza Ramon Berenguer where the ancient wall awaits us.
Our next destination takes us to Plaza de los Traginers, where we will tell you about its commercial and social importance. We will continue our tour to the Porta de Mar, an ancient gate of the Roman wall that marked the entrance to the city from the sea.
We will head to Plaza Sant Jaume, where the forum was located, which was the political and religious heart of the city in Roman times. We will see its ruins in the MUHBA, as well as the original columns of the Temple of Augustus.
Our next stop will take us to the Domus de Sant Honorat, where we can enter an authentic Roman house and discover how its inhabitants lived more than two thousand years ago.
Finally, after 2 hours of walking, we will conclude our tour at Plaza Real.
