Rubin was a very well informed guide, with an easy manner. My husband is hearing impaired and particularly appreciated that he was able to hear everything, because Rubin spoke clearly and projected his voice.

Marianne llegó 15 minutos antes del comienzo del tour. Durante el tour nos ofreció apuntes históricos del país, de la ciudad y del barrio de Bo Kaap, así como nos enseñó los mejores puntos para sacar grandes fotos. Además nos habló sobre la comida e incluso nos compró dos koe Sister (pasteles típicos de desayuno). Al finalizar el tour, nos acompañó en parte de nuestro camino a pie hacia el hotel y nos dio consejos de que hacer el resto de la tarde. Además también nos dió apuntes en papel con recomendaciones sobre qué hacer en ciudad del cabo, excursiones, posibles rutas o sitios para comer. Fue muy agradable y cariñosa y nos ofreció su móvil por si necesitabamos algo el resto de nuestra estancia aquí. Muy recomendable!

Get Up, Stand Up, Stand Up For Your Right. Ilyas gave the two of us the most enlightening and informative tour of Bo-Kaap this morning. Over two and a quarter hours we learnt about the history, culture, community and religion of this vibrant and historical part of Cape Town from a guide who was born, educated and brought up here, who knew everyone we bumped into on the tour and who was so welcoming. Top that off with a visit to a local home for some delicious koe'sisters and it makes this the best GuruWalk we've had to date anywhere in the world. Thank you so much Ilyas, your tour was brilliant. Very highly recommended to others.

Rubin was truly an excellent guide for the topic of Apartheid to Democracy of South Africa. He personally live through that dark times and had personal losses of relatives in the struggle. He is very passionate and is able to articulate clearly in sharing his personal experiences with visitors. we loved his stories of that period as well. Highly recommend Rubin for anyone who is interested to learn about the history and the evolution of South Africa.

Nathan was an excellent guide for Bo-Kaap since he grew up in the neighborhood and appears to know everyone there. We enjoyed an insider’s in-depth knowledge and interesting stories of the people and this wonderful unique neighborhood. Nathan even gave us a delicious treat of Ms. Koo donuts in one of the shops.
