Free Tour Legends and Mysteries of Cádiz
We are a young team that left Spain in 2009 and we are in London to create this beautiful project. At the request of our "walkers" we grew up in Paris, Dublin, Berlin, Malaga, Cordoba and Budapest, teaching these cities to thousands of Spanish speakers. We are professional guides and we are madly in love with every corner of the cities we teach.
Tour description
We will surprise you with all the legends and curiosities that Cádiz hides. Come with us to discover Cádiz at sunset! Discover with us the most hidden side of Cádiz. Walk with us as night falls in Cádiz and discover the legends hidden in "La Tacita de Plata". Join us on our Free Tour Legends and Mysteries of Cádiz , with which you will walk through the city while our official guide in Spanish makes you part of its most unknown secrets and mysteries. You dare?
We will begin our tour at the entrance arch to La Caleta to go to the Castle of San Sebastián , a place that was a Phoenician temple and where they made chilling sacrifices to their gods. We will continue walking along the beach of La Caleta , where numerous residents claim to have witnessed the appearance of unidentified flying objects. Will we also see a UFO during our visit?
We will continue on our way until we reach the Valcárcel building , an old hospice and later school, home to paranormal phenomena and macabre stories. We will also talk about the two largest ficuses in the city and how they got to the point where they are today. Do you know what they call this type of tree in Cádiz?
We will continue walking while the night becomes more and more the protagonist until we reach the Gran Teatro Falla , a true symbol of Cádiz that suffered a mysterious fire eleven years after its inauguration. Luckily, there were no victims, although we will know some legends tell the opposite.
Later we will stop at the Plaza del Mentidero to learn about a macabre story that happened in one of the houses around it. We will talk about the painting of the clown , an errant work that, apparently, is cursed. Next, we will go to another square, that of San Antonio , to learn the story of the girl with the piano , whose music went from delighting to tormenting her neighbors. You want to know why?
As the night becomes thicker and thicker, we will continue our walk until we reach Valverde street, where we will immerse ourselves in the history of the ancient Catacombs of the Beaterio , an underground cemetery that served as a refuge in the Civil War and that he was very nice to his neighbors.
Our path continues to visit the Casa del Pirata , one of the richest in the city, but which hides the tragic legend of its inhabitant. Later on, we will continue talking about the Cádiz subsoil to tell the story of the cisterns in Plaza de Candelaria .
Finally, we will advance towards the Plaza de la Catedral , connected to the Beaterio by means of a tunnel in the subsoil, and we will discover the curiosities of the Roman Theater of Cádiz , until we end up at the Casa Iberoamericana .
If you consider yourself a lover of legends, mystery and strange stories, you cannot miss our Free Tour Legends and Mysteries of Cádiz . You will have a spookily good time!
